Purpose
As humans, we are built to share our stories. I want this website to be a safe place to share the good, bad, ugly, and funny stories from my travel experiences and lessons. Think of each blog post as a letter from a friend bringing you along on her crazy adventures, giving you a much-needed laugh on a hard day, a gentle push to do something brave, or sharing some facts and tips for your next trip.
The goal of this website is to build a community of solo travelers. Those who travel solo know we have stories to share from our adventures, whether finding yourself after hiking a 14er or sitting in a restaurant solo for the first time. I want people to leave with a better sense of purpose, a little less confused, a little braver, and a little more of themselves.

About Me
"Tourists see the world; travelers experience it." I love this quote because it describes how I travel. I want to experience a local pub with strangers and have a genuine conversation. I want to connect to a new place and feel like I have lived there all my life. I want an epic road trip with scenic views and stories to share.
When I travel, I seek peace, a new way of life, or gain something I've lost, like myself or my confidence. Sometimes I do it to lose something—stress, heartbreak, a story I have in my head—or to work out issues with life. Sometimes I do it to practice awareness of impermanence. Most of the time, I'm just trying to feel grounded again. After taking these trips, I feel like a badass--refreshed, grounded, and capable of doing hard things. It's fucking liberating.
Another quote I love is one I coined myself: "It's always a fucking adventure with me!" It is an adventure; you will see it when you read my posts. Whether it's being detained coming back from Canada, having a moth stuck in my ear, to camping in a tent with 40 mph winds in Colorado. I use traveling and the outdoors to rediscover myself and share the truths about being a solo female traveler.
