Recommended by the friendly bartenders at the Joint, this venue offers spectacular city views from above Main Street, creating a modern, welcoming rooftop retreat where city lights meet craft cocktails. The décor is trendy and lively, with neon signs, cozy lounge spaces, and breathtaking skyline views. As evening falls, it becomes Columbia’s lively nightlife center — an ideal place to enjoy signature cocktails, sample local beers, or capture a stunning Instagram shot of the glowing cityscape.

As I moved from the Joint to the Moxy, I noticed live music filling every corner. I even found the perfect Christmas hat, custom-made! Whether you're craving a gourmet coffee, want to explore unique local crafts, or pick up a fresh bouquet of flowers, all while enjoying live performances along the sidewalks— this spot is ideal, especially for solo travelers.
5. Exploring Congaree National Park: Nature’s Hidden Wonder
If you're looking to escape the city and immerse yourself in nature, Congaree National Park is just a 30-minute drive from downtown Columbia. As South Carolina's only national park, it boasts some of North America’s tallest deciduous trees. Visitors can stroll along the 2.4-mile Boardwalk Loop Trail, which winds through ancient forests and tranquil wetlands. I was fortunate to see a gator in the lake!
