Experience Christmas Magic at the Guinness Factory in Dublin

If you want a memorable holiday celebration in Dublin, visit the Guinness Factory at Christmas for a truly magical experience!

I had no idea when I booked my tickets in early November that the entire site would be decorated with Christmas trees, ornaments, and presents. Watching the iconic Guinness Storehouse transform into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights and festive music was incredible.

Whether you're a fan of Ireland’s famous stout (I’ll have a pint or two a year) or just looking for holiday cheer, there’s something for everyone. I loved it so much that I did my famous headstand in front of the Christmas display before joining the tour!

Let’s go on a Christmas Guinness adventure, shall we?

Ticket Options

When booking your tour online, you can participate in the standard factory tour and, at the end, claim a complimentary pint on the 7th floor while enjoying the views of Dublin. Alternatively, you can learn to perfect your Guinness pouring skills or have your photo laser-etched onto the foam of a beer.

These options are available online, but once you're on the 4th floor—home to the academy and stoutie—you can inquire about experiencing other activities. I managed to do both for a small fee, visiting on a Monday at 4 pm. Below, I will discuss them so you can decide whether to do both activities or just one.

Stoutie

If you're seeking a fun and quirky way to see your face on a beer, this is it! First, someone will take your photo, then you’ll head to the machine where a Guinness awaits. Press ‘start’ to print, and see your selfie printed on the top of your smooth Guinness.

Enjoy your personalized Guinness! I never thought I'd drink my face on a beer, but it was hilarious and really cool!

Guinness Academy

Another fun activity, but this time you'll actually pick up a useful tip. My guide, Keith, explained the 6 steps for pouring the perfect Guinness, including how to position the pint and the recommended wait time before the second pour. After pouring, you can enjoy your drink while waiting for your certificate to be emailed to you.

The Gravity Bar

Here, you can usually enjoy a free pint included with your ticket while admiring the breathtaking views of Dublin. For me, it was my third Guinness.

Having visited two attractions, I arrived after sunset, but it was still spectacular—mainly due to the décor. If the decorations on the first six floors were impressive, the seventh floor truly surpassed expectations. Colorful ornaments covered every inch, twinkling lights shone everywhere, and even doors had been lined with decorations. I was so caught up in the Christmas spirit that I forgot to admire the view!

Honestly, I was warned that this place can be very touristy, but I’m really glad I visited. I not only learned more about Guinness and enjoyed the fun attractions, but the factory, decorated for Christmas, made the experience even more magical.

For those looking for unique gifts, the Guinness shop offers limited-edition Christmas merchandise—perfect for stocking stuffers or souvenirs. I picked up a pint with Wandering Bel inscribed on it and a small Christmas ornament for my tree.

Whether you’re raising a glass with friends or traveling solo during Dublin’s holiday season, a trip to the Guinness Factory at Christmas guarantees unforgettable holiday memories!
